Declaring Pages

Each URL on the website should have a <url> entry which lists alternates within xhtml link tags, and the image and video resources contained within the core content of that page (boilerplate resources such as the logo and social buttons should not be placed within the XML sitemap). Each URL can contain up to 1, 000 image or video elements.

On our example website, we have two URLs: /foo.html and /foo-two.html.

<url>
    <loc>http://www.example.com/foo.html</loc>
    <lastmod>2013-08-19T19:22:58+00:00</lastmod>
    <changefreq>weekly</changefreq>
    <priority>0.6</priority>
</url>

<url>
    <loc>http://www.example.com/foo-two.html</loc>
    <lastmod>2013-12-04</lastmod>
    <changefreq>yearly</changefreq>
    <priority>0.1</priority>
</url>
